Women’s organizations from more than 150 countries are coordinating to protest against poverty and violence against women around the world. The initiative ‘World March of Women 2000’ was born twenty-one years ago at a meeting of 65 countries in Canada, which agreed to create a platform of demands against violence and poverty. March 2000 began on March 8, International Women’s Day.
