Feminism

Over the last few years, the word feminism has been gaining relevance in many contexts, some of them surrounded by a negative connotation, to the point of gaining a place in any political debate. Feminism is a doctrine and a social movement  that demands for women the recognition of abilities and rights traditionally reserved for men. It is not hating men,  nor wanting the desire for woman’s supremacy, it isn’t a trending, but obviously, is much more than that.

WHY IS THE VIOLET THE REPRESENTATIVE COLOR OF WOMEN?

This is because the 8 the of March of 1908, 130 women, workers at a textile indusrty of New York, deicided to go on strike to vindicate better work conditions. They got closed inside the factory and the owners decided to fire it. The fabric that were weaving was violet. This colour will become the symbol of the feminist movements.
