Important year for women. The First Congress of the International Working Women’s Association is held, which approves a solution to women’s professional work. During the second half of the 19th century, different countries and states recognized a type of women’s suffrage, starting with South Australia in 1861. In 1869, the Wyoming Territory became the first U. S. state.
